What is Global Shapers
In 2011, Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, founded the Global Shapers Community to empower young people to play an active role in shaping local, regional and global agendas.
Global Shapers believe in a world where young people are central to solution-building, policy-making and lasting change. Why? Our generation has inherited enormous global challenges, but by amplifying the voice of young people and self-organising for impact, we believe that we can overcome intergenerational inequity and shape a better future for all.
Our mission is to inspire, empower and connect young leaders to reach their full potential, shape decision-making processes and drive positive change in local communities and the world.

Global Shapers Manchester Hub
Among more than 500 hubs in more than 150 countries, the Manchester Hub started in January 2020 by Flaviu Cipcigan and Alice Sparks during COVID-19.
Manchester, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and free trade, is now a thriving post-industrial city undergoing numerous transformations, developments, and projects. Driven by the vision and support of the Global Shapers Community, our hub is dedicated to making a tangible impact, bringing young leaders together to shape a greener, fairer, and more prosperous future for the city.
